Well, the holidays are upon us once again and just like last year, it looks as though I've waited until the last minute to run all the errands and complete all the chores I need to do to survive Christmas, 2011. (One of them is sticking my hand up a turkey's backside.)

Hey, it's not my fault. Someone ran off with my November. (I think it was the Grinch.) I barely remember Thanksgiving coming and going. Anyway, the point is, I haven't done much shopping and even less decorating. Cooking? Well, I can't get out of that.

But no doubt about it, it'll be another last minute mad dash to the mall on Christmas Eve. I hope the family appreciates the pair of mismatched socks, three-sizes-too-big Christmas sweater, slightly dinged Christmas keepsake ornaments and assorted other last minute gifts they get from me this year. It really is the thought that counts, right? But don't worry too much. I will also buy some heartfelt gift cards. Yup, another gift card Christmas. Have you ever had one of those? Personally, I kind of like those gift cards. You can get what you want.

Now, the reason I lost my November? Well, it wasn't really stolen by the Grinch. You see, I've been a little busy. Not only am I writing a new Shadow Falls novel as C.C. Hunter (more on that in the next newsletter), I've been working on getting a new Christie Craig romantic suspense novel up as e-book. Check out the cover!

Okay, I'm really excited about this book. First, for the facts. It's scheduled to go live on December 20th--exclusively on Barnes & Noble, the Nook. The book should go live on Amazon around Feb 10. I know, I know, I'm sorry to all Kindle users, but higher ups make those calls.

The book is a little different from what I usually write. Yes, it has my trademark humor, a hot cop hero, a cute and quirky heroine, some dead bodies courtesy of some bad guys and lots of colorful secondary characters, but it also has Mama. And Mama is . . . well, Mama's dead. But when did a mama on a mission ever let that get in her way? Even from the grave, she's determined to protect her daughter and get her together with the hero. What's even cooler is that it's actually the first novel I sold after my long dry spell back in 2006. However, the publisher quickly closed house and I got my rights back.

Here's the blurb on Murder, Mayhem and Mama:

Being a mama is hard. But the job's even tougher when you're dead.

Cali McKay's mama isn't ready to pass over to the "other side" yet. Her unlucky-in-love daughter needs her now more than ever. Before Mama can chain-smoke her way to heaven, she's gotta make sure Cali's deadbeat ex-boyfriend doesn't get her daughter killed.

Grief Sucks. Love Heals.

Cali lost her mom to cancer. Detective Brit Lowell lost his partner to murder. Now he's in the mood to take down some dirtbags, and Cali's ex just happens to be a dirtbag leaving a trail of dead bodies behind him. Can Brit trust this beautiful woman to help take down her ex? Can Cali look past this sexy cop's hard exterior to trust him with her heart? Can life get any crazier when Mama starts meddling from the grave? Only one thing's for sure—none of it will matter, unless they catch a killer before the killer catches them.

I hope you enjoy reading about Cali and Brit as much as I enjoyed writing their love story. Look for the book at Amazon and Barnes and Noble on December 20th. I'll post some links at my website, too, so swing by there for more info. Oh, if you haven't read my backlist, you can get them all electronically at Amazon or Barnes and Noble. Or you can still get some print copies on my website, Christie-Craig.com.

Twitter Contest Alert!

To celebrate the release of Murder, Mayhem and Mama, I'm going to be running a Twitter contest. All you have to do is retweet my post about my new book being out. Yup, I want some help letting readers know about the book. And remember those gift cards I love? Well, I'll be giving away one, and maybe more, $25 gift cards from Amazon to some lucky people. I'll be making an announcement about the details on December 20th at my Twitter account and on Killer Fiction http://killerfictionwriters.blogspot.com. To make sure you'll hear all the details, follow me on Twitter - http://twitter.com/Christie_Craig. Also, check out my Facebook account – http://www.facebook.com/christiecraigbooks.

I'll be posting the rules/details of the contest on Killer Fiction December 20th, so best of luck to everyone!

What's Next?

Okay, I have one final piece of juicy news to share with you guys. Blame it on Texas, book two in my Hotter In Texas trilogy, will be out in September of 2012.

A Hotter in Texas Novel

Blame it on Texas

Zoe Adams has always been content with her quiet nights at home, sitting alone on her couch munching popcorn and watching TV -- until her life turns into a real-life episode of the Unsolved Mystery Hunters show she loves. The story of a kidnapped girl triggers unexplained memories, and Zoe is dead set on figuring out why. Her search leads her to one of the Lone Star state's richest families and to sexy PI Tyler Lopez.

Tyler has sworn off women, especially redheads with killer curves who poke their noses into his clients' personal affairs. Still, he can't deny the attraction any more than he can deny that some of Zoe's crazy story makes sense. But when she becomes a hit man's target, this cold case really starts heating up. Suddenly, Tyler will do anything to protect Zoe -- even if it means risking his heart.

To whet your appetite for Tyler Lopez and Zoe Adams's story, here's the cover in draft form. They are still fine tuning it.

Hope you all have a joyously happy holiday season!
