What a Year It’s Been!

What a year it’s been.  Between both my author personas, Christie Craig and C.C. Hunter, I’ve released six books this year.

Texas Hold ‘Em

Reborn

Divorced, Desperate & Dangerous

Unbreakable

Eternal

Divorced, Desperate & Dead

I’ve traveled all over Texas: Terrel, San Antonio, Dallas, Euless, and Palacios.  I’ve jumped a plane and flown to Wisconsin, Maine, Alabama, Ohio, and Phoenix, where I talked about writing and shared my passion for this career and the art of storytelling.

I’ve visited with old fans, hugged and laughed with old and new fans, and made so many new friends.  Some of them even looked a little strange.

IMG_0894IMG_0903I’ve watched a miracle as my hubby got a new kidney.  I spent almost a month living out of hotel, so I could be close to the hospital during some later complications.  The good news is that I have him home now and he’s improving and the kidney is working.

I’ve had a year of joy, tears, love, laughter and success.  I could have done without some of hubby’s health issues, but considering things are looking up, I’ll call it a good year.  I hope you, too, have some good times to reflect back on in this year.  I wish this New Year will bring all of us more love, laughter and success and a lot less tears.

Happy new year

  1. Christie! So glad I caught your post. Thrilled that your hubby’s new kidney is working, and wow on the books! As for me, after seeing you in April at Desert Dreams conference, I swore to you that I’d finish two books before I saw you in San Antonio – and I did! Plus, I got a contract for 3 books, another for a short story, and have completed a third book and two short stories since August!

Thank you so much for your encouragement, your advice to always celebrate the little things, and the reminder that we can do this. Sending you love and hugs, and may 2015 be your best year yet!

    • Christine,
Wow! I’m so proud of you. It takes a lot of commitment to do that, but if you are like me, you love it. I consider myself very lucky to have this career that I love. To get paid to do something that I would do even if I didn’t get money…well, I’m very lucky. Keep on going. Hope to see you again soon!

  2. Wow! What a whirlwind of a year, Christie (and C.C.) ! I was feeling productive with having two books go up toward the tail end of the year, and then I read this 🙂 At first I thought, boy that makes me tired and then after reading Christine Ashworth’s comment, I thought, nope, now I feel inspired 🙂 You need to give the pep talk you gave to her, to some of us 🙂 I think I will go celebrate the small stuff in a moment, and then go nose down to work on the sequel for my Christmas piece 🙂 My goals just accelerated for the new year! 🙂 P.S. So glad to hear the hubby is “shinin'” again 🙂 Lo

    • Loretta,

Anytime you need a kick in the butt, just call me! I’m good at that! Celebrate all that you have accomplished and hold your head high and be proud. We are women, we are writers. Just hear us roar!!!!

  3. So glad to hear your hubby is doing well with his new kidney. That’s a wonderful way to end the year. You have definitely had a whirlwind year full of ups and downs. Kudos to you that were able to accomplish so much and with everything else going on around you! That would have been a feat creating the books all in itself! You are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing with us. Hope 2015 brings you lots of joy 😀 <3

  4. Becka,

Yup, I’m celebrating large. Getting hubby over the hump has been my biggest success. We need to learn to appreciate all the ups because life brings some down time. Thank goodness we got through them. Hope you have a wonderful New Year.

  5. So glad to hear that your hubby is doing well! I’ve read all of your 2014 releases and can’t wait to get my hands on more in 2015! I wish you and your family luck in the new year!

  6. So awesome your hubby is doing good with his new kidney 🙂 Your books are awesome and helped me get through some difficult times, where I could just escape reality for a while. I can’t wait to read more of your books in the new year!
