Back To School

image2brownsvilleYou guys know I love to visit schools.  What makes them extra special? It’s when the school has lots of students who have read my books.  And at Lopez High School in Brownsville, Texas, there were many students who had read my Shadow Falls books and were excited to talk with me about them.   Most of you have heard me say that Kylie, Lucas, Derek, Miranda, Perry, Burnett and Holiday are like my friends, but nothing is better than when I meet people who feel the same way.  So, I’ve got to say, I really had a blast meeting all the students and chatting about our mutual friends.

So, if you’re a teacher and would like me to visit your school, or if your child is a big fan of my CC Hunter Shadow Falls books and would like me to visit their school, have the school’s principal or librarian contact me at I would love to talk with your students.image4brownsville

No, I Didn’t Lose My Shirt!

8345I’m back from RT’s Booklovers Convention in Las Vegas. Boy, did I ever have fun. RT sure does know how to throw a party! And where better than in Las Vegas? I’ve been to Vegas a lot, and I never get tired of it. You see, I love to gamble. But I only lost $200 this trip, so that’s good. I play mostly table games like black jack and three card poker.  Oh, and roulette, of course. Actually, I guess I discovered I liked to gamble a long time ago when I decided to be a writer. People kept telling me how the odds were all against me, but I stuck with it and I won.

Las Vegas is a pretty interesting place. Much like New York City’s Time Square, you never know what you’ll see on the Vegas Strip.  I knew the city was a popular convention place, but I never realized they host about 20,000 conventions a year! So, I’d say they pretty much have it all down to a science. As you imagine most people come to Vegas to gamble, but did you know the second most popular activity is getting married? There are more than 35 wedding chapels in the city—and they’re constantly busy. Did any of you get married in Las Vegas? Maybe I should have one of my heroines wake up married in Las Vegas. I know it’s been done, but I think I could put a new twist on it.

paris_las_vegasThe Rio Hotel, where RT held its convention, was beautiful. I only wish I’d had a little time to sit by their pool, but I was too busy having fun catching up with old friends and making new ones. The Teen Day was so awesome and the giant book signing was mobbed! But I did leave the Rio and spend one night at the Paris Hotel. It was awesome!

5518Now I’m back home in Texas, but not for long. On Thursday, I’m heading off to Brownsville, TX for a book signing at a school. Then, It’s off to Michigan. In fact, April 28th, I’ll be in Grand Rapids at Schuler Books with Michigan author Colleen Gleason. The fun starts at 7:00 PM, and there will be giveaways!! So if you live anywhere near Grand Rapids, come on by!

Then, April 28th-30th, I’m the guest speaker at the Retreat From Harsh Reality at the Bay Pointe Inn on Gun Lake in Shelbyville, Michigan. It looks amazing and I can’t wait!

A Ghostly Presence

ghostI’ve talked about ghosts before on my blog, and I must be a little obsessed by them since they have even been characters in my books. Think about it. In Murder, Mayhem and Mama, Cali McKay’s mom is dead. But she still has a lot to say to her daughter. And in Divorced, Desperate and Dead, Chloe Sanders and sexy Detective Cary Stevens meet for the first time when they’re dead. But love can overcome anything, right?

Then there are my Shadow Falls books. Kylie, one of my main characters, sees ghosts all the time. Not that she wants to. They just sort of seek her out–and usually need her help. Ghost just keep popping up. And not just for her. A few other Shadow Falls campers get up close and personal with ghosts, too. So, I guess you could say ghosts are a recurring theme in my books. So, why am I so obsessed?

Well, I’ve had a close encounter or two with a ghost. And I’ve got to say, it scared the beegeesus out of me. Maybe it just made such an impression on me, and maybe even started my fascination, that ghosts keep ending up in my books.

Have you ever seen or felt a ghost? Tell me what happened.

MidnightHour_Final CVR_revisedI’m excited to tell you that I finally finished writing Miranda’s book, too. And it’s going to be a real doozie! She surprised me in several ways, and I think you’re gonna love her as much as I do. I revealed the cover and title for her book last week. Midnight Hour will be released in the U.S. on October 25, 2016, but is available for pre-order now at Amazon, Barnes & Noble and iBooks.

Cover Reveal!!

MidnightHour_Final CVR_revisedIt’s finally here! It’s so bittersweet to reveal the cover for the final chapter in the Shadow Falls series! But I have finished writing Miranda’s book. Yup, I typed “The End,” and sent it off to my editor. I can’t tell you I didn’t cry, but it felt right.  So, today I’m revealing the cover of Miranda’s book, Midnight Hour. Again, St. Martin’s has done a brilliant job. I love this cover! And Midnight Hour will be out in October 2016! But you can pre-order your copy now at all major retailers, and let me know in the comments: What do you think will happen at Shadow Falls in Midnight Hour?

fancy broom

Oh, I found this photo of a really cool witch’s broom, and I think Miranda needs it. It’s probably the Harley Davidson of the witch’s world. What do you think?
